Spirituality
Here at Vincentian, we recognize spirituality as the attentiveness and concern to matters of spiritual well-being and the caring for resident’s physical needs. We follow Jesus’ healing mission to not only care for physical affliction, but to touch people at the deepest level of their existence, and seek to heal physically, mentally, and spiritually.
In Scripture, Spirituality is referenced as “whoever believes in me will do the works that I do and will do greater ones than these…. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father and you are in me and I in you.” (John 14: 12, 16, 20)
We also are guided by the beliefs of our Patrons, St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac, whose Spirituality centered around the poor and suffering:
“If God is the center of your life, no words will be needed; your mere presence will touch their hearts.” ~ Vincent de Paul
“Do all you can for the poor, and above all, do not neglect the spiritual service you owe them.” ~ Louise de Marillac
