As we approach the one-year mark of when our lives at home, and in particular here at Vincentian, were fundamentally disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to pause to recognize the tremendous sacrifice and dedication of all Vincentian employees. To our Vincentian community of caregivers, made up of professionals of all stripes: thank you for all that you have done this past year, and for all that you do every day to make a difference in the lives of people we serve.
Here are two ways this week that we are celebrating you, our Vincentian caregivers:
National Employee Appreciation Day This Friday, March 5, be on the lookout for something special. Don’t work on Friday? Don’t worry! Our Human Resources representatives will have something special for you when we see you next.
Heart of Gold Awards Dinner – Virtual Event On Saturday, March 6, Vincentian employees will be recognized as the Heart of Gold award recipients for your extraordinary efforts to protect our residents during the pandemic. Employees are encouraged to attend the virtual event beginning at 6 p.m.
More About the Heart of Gold Awards
Vincentian’s caregivers are among four award recipients being honored at this year’s Heart of Gold Awards Celebration:
Heart of Gold – Vincentian caregivers for inspiring excellence in caregiving and demonstrating a commitment to the health and happiness of those who are served by Vincentian by going above and beyond expectations or exceeding regular duties at a time of a national crisis.
Heart of Vincentian – Sr. Lorraine Marie Ferlin who has opened the hearts of others to the Vincentian mission. As an active member of the Vincentian Society, she has proven to be a strong advocate and supporter of Vincentian and helped the organization to expand its outreach to new donors and partners.
Heart of Pittsburgh – The Notre Dame Club of Pittsburgh for its long-standing support of Vincentian and Vincentian Marian Manor having conducted the longest-running and most successful friend-to-friend fundraising event for Vincentian and providing pro bono professional services and hundreds of volunteer hours annually since 2005.
Heart of Charity – Highmark for its long association with Vincentian, serving on a volunteer basis on the Vincentian board of directors for two decades and supporting the organization’s fundraising efforts over the past two decades.
“The events over this past year have highlighted just how strong the spirit of service is across the Pittsburgh region. In addition to our dedicated and hardworking employees, we are very fortunate to have many corporate partners, donors and volunteers who support Vincentian through donations, event sponsorships, endowment funds and more,” said Ray Buehler, Board Chair of Vincentian Charitable Foundation. “Those recognized through our Heart of Gold Awards Celebration rose to the top because they have gone above and beyond in their support.”
