Catch Cancer Before It Can Advance
When detected early, colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable and treatable forms of cancer, yet a third of adults have not taken steps to make sure their cancer is caught before it can advance.
Get Screened
Screening for colorectal cancer is critical, as early detection and removal of colon polyps can prevent it. The UPMC Health Plan offers free screenings for asymptomatic members ages 50 – 75 who are at average risk of colorectal cancer and who do not have inflammatory bowel disease, previous adenomatous polyp(s), previous colorectal cancer, or a family history that predisposes them to a high risk of colorectal cancer.

Raise Awareness: Dress in Blue on Friday, March 5
By wearing blue, you help raise awareness about this disease and honor all who are impacted by colorectal cancer. In 2021, an estimated 149,500 people will be diagnosed with this highly preventable disease. That’s in addition to the more than 1.4 million colorectal cancer patients and survivors living today.
