Congratulations! Vincentian de Marillac Receives Zero Deficiencies on State Survey

Vincentian de Marillac recently achieved a zero-deficiency rating on the annual state survey conducted by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Human Services (DOH) earlier this month. This means that Vincentian de Marillac is in total compliance with the rules and regulations that govern senior care facilities set by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding the care to residents, services provided and overall environment.

Receiving a zero-deficiency rating is a distinction that only a few communities achieve (less than 5% of all nursing homes). It’s a key measure of the differentiated quality of care Vincentian provides, which is one of Vincentian’s overarching goals. Each month we measure and share our STAR ratings, always striving to achieve 5-STARs.

The state makes unannounced visits to communities like ours annually to ensure all state and federal standards are being met. During the surprise visit, the surveyors reviewed paperwork, protocols, and procedures, and examined the overall daily operations. The survey process also includes interviews with residents, residents’ family members, and Vincentian employees. They found no problems or issues that did not meet the standards.
