For the second year in a row, Newsweek has recognized Vincentian Home as one of best nursing homes in America and one of the top 20 in Pennsylvania.

The way Vincentian managed COVID-19 is one of the reasons for the ranking. Vincentian Home created a COVID-19 isolation unit early in the pandemic to care for residents and patients that were referred by local hospitals. Vincentian Home also was one of the first long-term care facilities in Pennsylvania to administer the COVID-19 vaccine.

Newsweek created the annual ranking to help families select the right nursing home for their loved ones. The list recognizes 450 nursing homes out of the nearly 12,000 that were analyzed.

The independent review considered three critical criteria: performance data, peer recommendations, and each facility’s handling of COVID-19.
