When landscaper Brian Gochis was prepping the St. Vincent statue on the Vincentian Home campus to be painted, he captured the attention of a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette photographer. The picture appeared on the front page of the Local News section of the May 27 paper.
The statue, which had been surrounded by large evergreen shrubs, has been getting a facelift to make it more prominent on the hillside leading up to Vincentian Home. In addition to a fresh coat of paint, the evergreens will be replaced with perennial flowers.
