We are grateful to all employees for their patience and flexibility during our recent open enrollment process, specifically those employees who elected coverage through our new ICHRA plan with Take Command.
The outsourcing of our medical insurance and the implementation of the ICHRA program was a big change in a short amount of time. We appreciate everyone working through that process with us. We have learned a lot about the ICHRA program in those short months and we continue to learn about the program even now.
Recently we have had the following two situations occur that we would like to update you on.
Are you still receiving invoices from UPMC or Highmark?
Non-Medicare employees will continue to receive monthly invoices from UPMC and Highmark throughout the year. Please do not pay these invoices. If you receive an invoice and have any questions, please contact Take Command or your insurance provider. If you do not want to receive these invoices via mail you can contact your insurance provider or go into the app associated with that provider and request that your invoices be sent via email.
If you or a member of our family are on Medicare, you need to continue to make your payments to receive the monthly reimbursement from Vincentian.
Questions?
Contact Take Command at 214-866-7757 or via help on the website.
Have you received past due notices from Highmark or UPMC?
We have heard from a small number of employees that have recently received letters saying that they have not paid their health insurance premium. Most of these letters come from Highmark. In most cases the reason for this is an issue of timing within Highmark.
If you receive a letter and are concerned, please call Take Command to confirm that a payment has been sent. Please then call your insurance provider to confirm that a payment has been received.
If you or a member of our family are on Medicare, you need to continue to make your payments to receive the monthly reimbursement from Vincentian.

Remember the INDIVIDUAL (you!) in ICHRA
(Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Account)
It is important to remember that an ICHRA plan is an Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Account. This means that everyone’s premiums are sent separately to Highmark and/or UPMC by Take Command. This service was outsourced to Take Command in the fall, and you should contact them or your insurance provider directly if you have questions. Your People Operations and Engagement Specialist will not have the information needed to help answer these payment questions.
If you or a member of our family are on Medicare, you need to continue to make your payments to receive the monthly reimbursement from Vincentian.
