On Wednesday, March 20, Vincentian hosted “Care for Family Caregivers,” a day-long event designed to provide much-needed respite and support to the amazing individuals who dedicate themselves to caring for loved ones.

The event welcomed both family caregivers and professional caregivers, offering a flexible program with workshops in the morning and afternoon. Sessions addressed a wide range of topics through a wellness lens, equipping attendees with tools and strategies to navigate the challenges and joys of

Throughout the day, caregivers were able to:

  • Connect with fellow caregivers: Sharing experiences and building a support network is essential for caregiver well-being. The event provided a space for connection and fostered a sense of community.
  • Learn from experts: Age-Friendly Pittsburgh, Anchorpoint Counseling, and other organizations offered valuable workshops on topics like stress management, self-care techniques, and navigating the healthcare system.
  • Prioritize self-care: Caregiver burnout is a serious concern. By attending this event, participants took a vital step towards prioritizing their own well-being.
